DB boards & breakers
Distribution boards that stay on and stay safe
One faulty breaker in a shared board can take out several tenants at once. We find out why the protection is operating, replace failed breakers, earth leakage units and isolators with the correct rating, and plan board upgrades around your trading hours.

Scope
Board work we handle
-
Breakers that keep tripping
We trace why a breaker or earth leakage unit trips before deciding whether the device or the circuit is at fault.
-
Failed or burnt components
Breakers, isolators, main switches and earth leakage units replaced with ratings that suit the circuit.
-
Labelling and circuit schedules
Boards labelled so your maintenance team and tenants can find the right circuit quickly.
-
Capacity for new equipment
The board is checked before you add kitchen equipment, chargers or extra circuits, and upgraded where it needs to be.
-
Tenant sub-boards
New or altered sub-boards for tenant units, shop fit-outs and office changes.
-
Damage from heat or water
Boards affected by overheating, a leak or a surge made safe and repaired.
On site
Board shutdowns, planned with the people affected
Working on a board means switching off everything downstream of it. We confirm which units and equipment it feeds, agree a time with you and keep the outage as short as the work allows. If a full shutdown can't happen during trading, we schedule it after hours.
- Which tenants each board serves, confirmed first
- Shutdown time agreed before we start
- Fridges, servers and alarms flagged in advance
- Electrical room access and keys arranged
- Board closed, labelled and tested before we leave

Facilities FAQs
DB board questions from property managers
Can't we just fit a higher-rated breaker?
No. A breaker trips to protect the cable behind it. A bigger one hides the problem and puts the cable at risk of overheating. We find out why it trips and fit the rating the circuit needs.
Can you quote from a photo of the board?
A photo helps us bring the right parts. The final quote follows testing on site, because the cause of a trip rarely shows up in a picture.
Will the whole building lose power?
Only the areas fed by the board we are working on. We tell you which those are and agree the timing before we switch off.
Can the work be done after hours?
Yes. Evening and weekend work carries a surcharge, which we confirm with you when we book.
