Power back on, and the site safe again

When the power fails at a shop, office or block of units, every hour costs you. Call 011 791 6121, day or night, and one of our own electricians finds out whether the fault is in your installation or the supply. We make the area safe, then restore power to what you need first.

Scope

Electrical emergencies we attend

  • Total or partial power loss

We establish whether the fault sits on your side of the meter or with the supply, so you know who to chase.

  • Tripping that won't reset

Main switches, earth leakage units and breakers that drop out the moment they are switched back on.

  • Burnt or damaged boards

Scorched, overheated or water-damaged DB boards, isolators and plug points made safe and repaired.

  • Circuits feeding critical kit

Supplies to tills, servers, cold rooms, gates and security. We repair the circuit; the equipment itself stays with its own supplier.

  • Safe now, finished later

If a part isn't with us, we isolate the fault, restore what we safely can and return to complete the repair.

  • Follow-up work, approved first

Anything beyond the emergency repair is quoted and waits for the go-ahead from whoever signs off spend.

On site

Working around a building that is still occupied

Tell us who is in charge on site and where the boards are, and we deal with that one person. Before we switch anything off, we say which areas will lose power and for roughly how long, so you can warn tenants and staff. If the site has an induction or a security sign-in, we follow it.

  • One site contact for the whole call-out
  • Shutdowns explained before anything goes off
  • Security and induction rules followed
  • Electrical rooms and risers locked behind us
  • Repair options explained before extra work

Facilities FAQs

Questions facilities teams ask during an outage

Is the fault ours or the supplier's?

That is the first thing we establish. If the neighbouring properties are also off, it is probably the supply, and you will need to log it with City Power or Eskom. If only your building or one unit is affected, it is an installation fault we can trace and repair.

Do we pay a call-out fee at night?

No. There is no call-out fee at any hour. The first hour of labour is charged, and if we fix the fault in that hour without materials, that is the only labour you pay. The after-hours surcharge is added on top.

Will it be fixed on the first visit?

Where the parts are on hand, yes. If the repair needs a component we don't have with us, we make the installation safe, restore what we can and come back to finish.

Who should make the call?

Whoever can tell us what is off and let us in. If a property manager or body corporate must approve repairs, give us their number as well, so approval doesn't hold up the job.
