Hot water systems
Hot water back for staff, tenants and guests
A failed geyser means cold showers in a rental block, no hot water in a staff kitchen and complaints by lunchtime. Because we employ both plumbers and electricians, one team deals with the cylinder, the valves, the controls and the electrical supply.

On site
Hot water work around occupied units
Replacing a geyser means water and power off to that unit while we work. We arrange access with the tenant or staff, protect the ceiling and floor below and leave the new unit heating before we go. If the tenant can't be home, the managing agent or caretaker can let us in once you have approved the work.
- Tenant or staff access arranged
- Geyser isolated at the board before we start
- Ceiling access and drip tray checked
- Old unit removed where it is part of the quote
- Unit heating before handover

Facilities FAQs
Geyser questions from landlords and office managers
Is a leaking geyser always a replacement?
No. A leaking valve or overflow pipe is often a repair. A leak from the cylinder itself usually means replacement. We check before advising.
Do you work on gas geysers?
No. Amptex doesn't do gas work. We repair and replace electric geysers and their plumbing and electrical connections.
Can you handle a geyser in a tenant's unit?
Yes. Approve the work, give us the tenant's details, and we arrange access with them directly.
Who should report a geyser fault?
Whoever notices it first, but give us the details of the person who approves the spend. For a burst geyser, call straight away: we make it safe, then quote the repair for whoever signs it off.
Can we claim through insurance?
That is between you and your insurer. Check their process before we replace the unit, and we will supply the quote and invoice they ask for.
